Caribbean Village Stormwater & Infrastructure Focus Group

Purpose

The Caribbean Village Stormwater Infrastructure Focus Group is established to assist the Board of Directors in evaluating the potential impacts of regional infrastructure and development projects on the Association's stormwater management system and the community as a whole.

The Focus Group's primary objective is to examine, discuss, and gather information regarding the potential effects of the River Road expansion project and the North River Road Marketplace development on stormwater runoff, drainage patterns, water quality, flooding risks, infrastructure capacity, and related environmental conditions that may affect Caribbean Village.

As part of its work, the Focus Group may engage with local, regional, and state governmental agencies, regulatory authorities, elected officials, engineers, and other appropriate stakeholders to obtain information, understand project plans, communicate the Association's concerns, and advocate for the protection of the community's interests. The group may also review engineering studies, public records, permits, and other available information relevant to these projects.

The Focus Group shall analyze its findings and develop recommendations for the Board of Directors regarding potential actions, including monitoring activities, engineering evaluations, agency coordination, public participation opportunities, and other measures intended to help protect the Association's stormwater infrastructure and the long-term interests of the community.

Membership

The Focus Group shall consist of volunteer members of the Association together with one member of the Board of Directors serving as the Board liaison. The Board may authorize consultation with engineers, environmental specialists, legal counsel, or other subject matter experts as appropriate.

Authority

The Focus Group serves solely in an advisory capacity. It has no authority to establish Association policy, make commitments on behalf of the Association, or bind the Board of Directors. All recommendations shall be presented to the Board for review and consideration, and any official communications or actions on behalf of the Association shall be authorized by the Board of Directors.
