Board Member Resignation

On Saturday October 25th, Board member Karen Smith notified the HOA Board of her resignation from the HOA Board effective immediate, citing “various personal reasons”. As both neighbors and Board members we respect Karen’s needs and sincerely wish her and her family well, and thank you Karen for your service to the CV Community.
In accordance with the CV Bylaws and the Florida HOA 720 Statute, the Board has expediently identified and invited a resident to fill the vacated seat, who has accepted the appointment. Dennis Daniels will be filling her vacated seat for the duration of it’s term, ending November 2027. Dennis has lived in CV for approximately seven years. He and his wife Sue have been volunteers serving on CV committees and helping with various events. Just last week, Dennis submitted his candidate nomination for election of one of the two expiring HOA Board Member seats, (the only candidate nomination received as of Oct 24) which is why the Board chose Dennis as the most fitting and ready-to-serve Member to fill Karen’s vacated seat. This voids his candidacy nomination.
Please join the HOA Board in thanking, welcoming, and supporting Dennis’ devoted spirit and example of volunteer leadership to help keep CV a great neighborhood!

Board Member Candidates Needed

Caribbean Village requires a 5-Member HOA Board of Directors. There are two Board seats who’s terms are up this year. All people that own a lot in Caribbean Village have both the right and duty to pitch in and help with the tasks to keep CV a fun, safe, attractive, and valuable community. It’s too easy to assume that someone else will step up, and it is wrong for healthy and able-body CV homeowners to think it’s not also your responsibility, or claim “I’m too busy”, or “I’m retired”. The fact is, we should see far more candidates than there are open positions every single year. Everyone is busy, even retired folks, but CV needs you!

Safety First!!

The recent fountain control panel system replacement for the large lake fountains is a high-tech system with very high voltage electric powering it. The expert installers call it “kill-you-in-1-second” high voltage. This system is located in what we refer to as the “electrical compound” at the clubhouse, adjacent to the irrigation pump system. In the past many CV member volunteers of the previous “Maintenance Committee” were provided access into this compound to assist with various CV maintenance needs, which included adjusting the timers on the fountains when needed. Due to the deadly high voltage, and also the fact that if we tamper with anything in that electric panel we void our warranty on the new fountain control system, the Board has disabled access to that electrical compound to everyone by adding two new locks to the access gate. Effective immediately, only our hired fountain service technicians will be provided access into that electrical compound. Over the next two weeks the surplus fence parts, irrigation parts, garbage cans, and the few tools stored in the electrical compound will be relocated to the new irrigation compound (fenced enclosure scheduled for installation on Nov 5th), and OSHA approved “Danger - High Voltage - No Entry” signage will be installed on the electrical compound gate.

Halloween in the Village - 2025

This Friday is Halloween! YAY!! Children, and their parents that want to participate in the Parade before going out into the neighborhood should be at the clubhouse by 5 PM Friday. A map identifying the homes handing out candy (and homes that will have treats for adults!) will be handed to the children/parents at the clubhouse at that time. Children (parents) will be encouraged to visit each street - there will be a special prize - scavenger hunt to make it more fun. Gates will be open from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM.
