March 1 - Weekly Update
By Jim Hilker, Caribbean Village HOA President
Garbage Cans
Just in case there’s anyone who is still wondering; Yes, you can use the new garbage container that was dropped off at your home this past week. The new county service provider does not begin until the end of March, but you are certainly allowed to use the new container now if you wish, or continue using your old ones for the next few weeks if you’d rather do that.
If you wish to dispose of your old garbage can, you can set it out to the curb on garbage day and mark it with “REMOVE” and they will dispose of it for you. The county urges people to repurpose their old garbage cans for yard waste or other such uses instead of disposing it to the landfill.
Mulch
You may have notice the pallets of Mulch being staged at the Clubhouse parking lot. I was informed today that there are still 3 more truckloads coming over the early part of this next week. Mint Condition Services will begin moving pallets to the streets on Thursday this next week, and spreading it on your planting beds soon after that.
Family and Friends Spaces
We have some very nice open common areas throughout our community. These can be great places for family to spread out and have some fun. It seems we could perhaps add some features such as a picnic table, and maybe one of those cast iron barbeques that are common in parks, especially at the clubhouse in the area between the game court and the pool. Stay tuned for a community poll on this in the near future.
That “Iconic” Tree!!!
I spoke with Trey Brocke, owner of Mint Condition Services today. He mentioned that he’s hoping to get his crew in the community this week to stand up that “iconic tree” on Billfish. It seems he heard from Tiki Man about it and figured he better get on it. Tiki Man wants you all to know that Brightview does NOT get the credit for this - it is our new landscaping provider Mint Condition Services. They just felt it was wrong to mow around that tree and wanted to get it stood up and stabilized before they get here in April.
Trey would like you all to know that he is available to quote any landscaping projects, pressure washing, exterior painting, patios and walkways, etc that you may need at your home. He’s already provided these services to some CV neighbors in recent weeks.

Thank You!!
The HOA Board thanks and recognizes Rhonda Hnelosub. She and Fred have sold their CV home and will be moving out within the next couple of weeks. Rhonda’s volunteerism has been a big help to our community as she took on the leadership role of both the Social Committee and the ARC Committee for the past few years. Thank you Rhonda!! We wish great things for you and Fred.
