Kentucky Derby Party

Yesterday was a great time at the CV Kentucky Derby Party. What a fantastic turnout! If you were unable to make it to this event, there will be many other great events to follow over the coming months. Please plan on attending, you’ll be glad you did!
Pictures and video of the Kentucky Derby Party coming on the “What’s Happening” page tomorrow!

Clicker Fobs

This past week we were able to get the clicker fobs and in-car buttons to work to open the Venice Ave gate through the Tap-2-Open system. At that time we were not successful in getting the old black square fobs (the ones with DKS logo on them) and I put out a sign up form for those who have those to get new ones. But all of the sudden yesterday I received an email from the Tap-2-Open tech support that they may have found a solution to getting those fobs to work. So we’re going to give that a try this coming week before buying a whole bunch of new fobs and having you all spend the $35 +/- per fob replacement. Hang tight a little longer and we’ll see if their expected solution works.

Beautification is Happening!

You may have notice a little more activity and planting bed transitions in the community as this past week saw two planting beds on Billfish Ave get underway. We also have a beautiful new Butterfly Garden at the Clubhouse. A big shoutout to Roxy and Dwight for their work and care in creating that! Also a big shoutout to Bev Kebrdle for her volunteer work with Mint Condition Services to get the planting bed beautification design and the project underway!
This next week you will see some incredible changes to the planting beds in the Venice Ave entrance as well as more planting beds on Billfish, Parrotfish, and at the Clubhouse. The week after that will focus on the River Rd entry area and the planting beds in the islands at each cul-de-sac.
Once all these spaces are finished, the HOA Board will be discussing a budget for beautification of the long planting bed outside the fence along Venice Ave.

Storm Shutter Install Service

This past week I announced an opportunity for all who need to have someone confirmed to install and remove your metal hurricane shutters should it be needed this hurricane season. At this time around 10 homes have signed up. If you need to get this service secured for your home too, please go to this web page to fill out and submit the sign up form. Trey Brocke of Mint Condition Services will be reaching out to everyone this coming week to confirm that you’re on the list.

Palm and Oak Tree Pruning

This week keep an eye out for another sign up sheet that will be launched for having Mint Condition Services prune your plam trees in your front yard. The more that sign up, the less cost per tree it will be. It is very reasonably priced at regular pricing, but a lot of participants will reduce your cost per tree even more.

Irrigation Pumps and Fountains

This past week our irrigation pumps broke down 3 times. Thankfully the repair company was able to get to those repairs quicker than the grass could turn brown, but wow…this is getting costly! I guess the only good thing about this drought is that not being able to run the fountains saves us about $3500 per month in energy usage costs, so that savings will be used to cover the over-budget costs of the irrigation system issues.
