Happy what’s left of Monday to all!

Toby and I saw a new house color while we were out walking in our Village this week! Suzy Mong on Blackfin is the first home owner to paint her house with one of our new color schemes (#2025 - 9)! I was so excited to see this the other day. Looks so nice.

I can’t wait to see more new house colors in our community! If you missed seeing all the new color schemes, check out What’s Going On? from June 16. Please remember that if you’re going to paint your house a different color (we have 23 schemes in total to choose from!) or change anything on the exterior (garage lights, landscaping, etc.) you are REQUIRED to submit an ARC request to David Linguard at director@cvcommunity.us prior to doing any work.

As I mentioned in my last update, over the next several weeks I’m going to review sections of our Rules & Regulations. Let’s review section 330 - Trash Containers/Enclosures

A. All trash must be placed in containers. Bags and loose trash are not permitted.

B. No trash containers can be put out earlier than 24 hours before pick up.

C. Trash containers must be stored out of view. Trash containers may not be stored at the side or rear of the house unless obstructed from view by approved landscaping or fencing.

D. Disposal of large items requires coordination with the local waste hauler prior to setting at the curb for pickup.

I especially want to point out that last item since it’s a bit of a change. With our old trash company, you could put a large item next to your trash can and have it taken away. With our new company, you can no longer do that. If it doesn’t fit into your can, you need to call Sarasota County to arrange for a special pickup.

Tuesday, August 26 at 5:30pm - Ladies Night Out at Dockside Waterfront Grill, 509 North Tamiami Trail in Venice. Come for a fabulous evening of good food, great conversation, and amazing company! Additionally, I want to give you advance notice of two other fun events coming up in October:

Oktoberfest - Saturday October 4th (5 PM to ?). $5 per person (includes German/Norwegian inspired food - BYOB). Family Friendly - Kid activities. Adult games, cornhole and More! Pay by Friday September 19th- Ramona Jung, 11649 Parrotfish or drop off in dropbox at Clubhouse in a sealed envelope with your name and address on the envelope.
FUNDRAISER Rummage Sale - Saturday October 18th. Everyone has treasures that they do not want or need anymore. Please consider saving them to donate to our Rummage Sale! We currently do not have a place to store any items, we ask that you save them up and bring them to the Clubhouse on Thursday October 16th. Our goal is to raise enough funds to cover the costs of placing benches in our community. Walkers and dog walkers will be so appreciative to have a place to rest or sit as we chat with our neighbors!
