Venice Ave Entry Gate Access via License Plate Recognition(LPR)

How the System Works
When a participating resident vehicle approaches the gate slowly in the lane closest to the key pad, a camera reads the vehicle’s rear license plate and checks whether the plate has been registered within the access control system.
If the plate is registered to a resident account, the gate will automatically open.
If the plate is not registered, the gate can still be accessed using existing methods such as clickers, keypad entry, or approved mobile access.
( please note that the fobs are no longer supported and that option will be discontinued when it stops functioning )
The LPR system is added to the Venice Ave gate only.
Optional Participation
Participation in the LPR feature is completely voluntary.
Residents who wish to use automatic plate-based gate entry may choose to register their license plate through the access system.
Residents who prefer not to participate may continue to use the normal gate access methods currently available.
Residents with elevated privacy concerns may opt not to register their license plate in the system.
What Happens If You Do Nothing
If you choose not to register a license plate:
Your gate access will remain unchanged.
You will continue to use existing entry methods.
Your vehicle will not be associated with a resident account in the LPR system.
Plate Image Capture
Like many modern access systems, cameras positioned at the gate may capture images of vehicles and license plates when entering the community.
License plates are only associated with a resident account if a homeowner voluntarily registers the plate within the system.
If a resident does not register a plate, the system can not link the plate to a resident profile.
Data Use and Privacy
License plate information is used solely for gate access purposes.
The Association and system access vendor does not sell or distribute resident license plate data.
Access to system information is limited to authorized CV administrators and the system provider for operational purposes.
Any requests from law enforcement would be handled in accordance with applicable law.
Data Security Brief
Data is protected using a shared responsibility model. AWS secures the underlying cloud infrastructure like data centers, hardware, and networking.
AWS protects data using encryption for data at rest and in transit, strong access controls through AWS Identity and Access Management, and continuous monitoring with tools like AWS CloudTrail and Amazon GuardDuty to detect suspicious activity.
