CV Update - May 25th

Memorial Day - Remember & Honor

On this Memorial Day, we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. On behalf of the HOA Board, we wish all residents a safe, peaceful, and meaningful holiday.

Pool & Clubhouse Closures

The community pool will be closed beginning Tuesday May 26 and remain so until the pool pump and motor are replaced. “Pool Closed” Signs will be posted on the amenity center gates. When they are removed by the pool technician, that means the pool is once again open.
The pool will also be closed on June 3rd & 5th for the scheduled power washing of the building, sidewalks, pool deck pavers and furniture. This may be extended a few additional days depending on how dirty the pool may have become from the power washing process.

Please do not use the facility or park your cars there at all on June 3rd and June 5th.

Violations Check: Garbage Cans | Overnight On-street Parking | Dirty Roofs and/or Sidewalks

It has been noticed lately that (some) residents are storing their garbage and recycle cans outdoors within clear unobstructed view of adjacent properties and/or streets and sidewalks. This is not permitted. Please consider this the official “friendly reminder” (warning) for those violating this rule. You must remedy this the moment you are finished reading it (which means right now). If you need to store them outside, they must be completely out of sight. If you need to construct a fenced-in garbage container corral, you may submit an ARC request for that through the PayHOA Portal.

The previous CV update included a reminder that on-street overnight parking is a violation of the Rules and Regulations and that remainder was an official warning of a coming crackdown on this problem. That crackdown is that a towing service will soon be making unannounced and random visits to CV a few times each week and will simply tow away cars in violation, at the owner’s expense. Please make your permanent off-street arrangements for parking so that your car is not towed. Also please note that parking within any of the cul-de-sacs in the community is not permitted at any time. Please refer to the CV Rules and Regulations for answers to your questions - linked HERE.

Many neighbors have sidewalks and/or roofs that are in need of pressure-washing right now. Please take a look at yours today and if it is getting black, it is time to wash it. The “on-going construction dirt” is not an acceptable free-pass for this cleaning need. Please note, under the extreme drought restriction order from Sarasota County, the HOA cannot mandate pressure washing to be done, nor can the HOA issues violations for not doing it. This restriction order expires on July 1st, so please make your plans accordingly.

Hurricane Season!

Summer vacationers (aka snowbirds) - If you’re already gone for the summer it is assumed that you have prepared, or made arrangements of your property for potential tropical storms and/or hurricanes. The C.E.R.T Committee (Community Emergency Reporting Team) has street liaisons for each street in the community. These volunteers serve to provide information needed between residents on their streets and the HOA Board before, during, and after an emergency situation. Please click this link to open the CERT page to learn more. Please note that the committee and it’s liaisons are NOT the persons to contact should you need your home storm-prepared.

HOA Board Nominations - Coming Soon

June marks six months remaining before the next Annual Meeting of the Membership. This annual meeting is when residents will vote for candidates to fill the expiring Director seats. This year there are two Director spots that are expiring. The Board has approved the creation of a “Nomination / Search Committee” to recruit and assist residents that are willing to volunteer to run for a seat on the Board.
This year resident that opted into receiving electronic communication will have the opportunity to cast your votes online through our secure PayHOA Portal. This is a new additional option to voting by paper proxy and voting in person. If you are someone who is passionate about improving our beautiful community and have the ability and talent to serve and provide leadership and direction, please nominate yourself to help this community thrive even more. This is the proper way to make positive change as opposed to simply complaining to neighbors.

Live-streaming HOA Meetings

For those CV residents that take a summer vacation away from Florida, you have the ability attend the regular HOA Board meetings virtually via Google Meet. The link to that is posted on the home page of the website at the bottom of the Meeting Notice on that page. The same rules apply to those attending online as those attending in-person, where comments from attendees is only permitted at the end of the meeting, and may only be related to a topic that is on the agenda.
Any resident(s) that wishes the Board to consider a topic to be added to the agenda of a meeting must submit that to the Board Secretary secretary@cvcommunity.us no less than 2 weeks prior to the next meeting. If a topic is supported by signatures of 20% of the CV residents, it then becomes mandatory for the Board to add it to the agenda for the next meeting for Board discussion (a Board vote on the item is not mandatory).

Looking Back

Did you know you can look back at the past CV Updates? None of them are ever removed, so feel free to look back through them to find important information that has previously been shared with the CV Community. It is easy for things to slip out minds, so this is a good way to refresh yourself on something forgotten of perhaps overlooked.
