Sound Barrier Wall

This past week FDOT was preparing the work area along the sidewalk on River Rd for the upcoming installation of the 12’ high, 800 feet long concrete sound barrier wall. I have not seen any notice of schedule, but all indications are we should see the installation of that begin any day now. It’s going to look so different outside CV along River Rd when that is done. It’s also going to create a strange area between the sound wall and the CV fence. There is currently landscape plants in that area which will never be seen again. We thought about digging them up and relocating them, but that is actually more expensive than buying and installing new, and the transplanting often kills the plants. That area will get very little sunshine, which will result in some interesting changes in that area. The Board will be discussing what to do with that area. Any thoughts and ideas from residents are welcomed and encouraged.

Clubhouse Meeting Room Improvements

On Thursday this past week several neighbors volunteered their time to paint the walls and ceilings of the Clubhouse Meeting Room. In addition to that, there is also three new bookshelves being added this weekend, as well as getting rid of one of two small ones. The purpose is to create a better looking, organized, and functional library, with a section for kids books and one for adults. This will also open up more room for the tables and chairs and being able to walk among those easier.

Parking Restrictions for Tomorrow

Tomorrow, Sunday June 1st, is the Kids Firetruck Fun Event beginning at 3:00 at the Clubhouse parking lot. Because of this we must have no cars parked in that parking lot starting at 2:00. Parking for the pool use and/or event must be streetside on the odd side addresses of Billfish Ave.

There will be “No Parking” signs posted for the even-side addresses of Billfish Ave. Please help by following these parking needs.

HOA Rules - Irrigation Maintenance - Your Homes

Our CV Declaration of Covenants, Section 11.03 on page 23 explains how the HOA is responsible for all irrigation maintenance on both the Common Areas and Residential Lots. It also describes when a homeowner is responsible for the cost of any needed repairs as well. Please take a few minutes and read that section. You can access the documents page of our website by a click or tap HERE.
The irrigation residential pipes for the drip lines and sprayers are now old and brittle which is resulting in many more repairs needed this year than in past years. Along with that, the irrigation main pump station is old and unreliable, and the repairs on that system alone is getting very costly, with long delays because getting parts for that old John Deere brand is not easy since John Deere got out of the irrigation components market a few years ago. The Board will continue discussing this developing expense dilemma.

ARC Committee Volunteers Needed

The Architectural Review Committee is in need of new members. Please consider volunteering for this committee. If you would like to know about what the committee does and how you can help, please email Dave Lingard at director@cvcommunity.us
