CV Update - March 14
License Plate Recognition - Venice Ave Gate Access
The Association has implemented a new access feature to the community gate access system using the Tap-2-Open platform. This improvement will increase reliability, convenience, and security for residents entering the community. This new optional feature is License Plate Recognition (LPR). and is ready for use now at the Venice Ave gate only! Residents that opt in to use this feature will no longer need to use your mobile phone or fobs to open the Venice Ave entry gate.

Candidate Search Committee
At the March 11 Board meeting the Board voted to create a sanctioned “Search & Nominating Committee”. This coming November there are two of the five Board seats whose terms end, Jim Hilker and Joan Capo. It is vital that we have candidates that are willing to take a turn serving on the HOA Board and the search and recruitment of those individuals must begin very soon. The Board will guide this committee to assure that all applicable rules and laws are followed, and will inform and mentor any of our residents that are ready to take a turn. This committee will also search and recruit residents to join committee, as well as members to serve as committee chairpersons.
There are a number of great resident here that would be a great fit to serve on the Search & Nominating Committee. You know you are one of those, so please reach out to Ramona or Jim and we’ll follow up with you right away. secretary@cvcommunity.us president@cvcommunity.us

Beautification and Upkeep
Over the past few weeks several members on the Beautification team have installed aesthetic enhancements to Venice Ave entrance, and now working on the River Rd. entrance. Working through unusually hot days for March and fending off fire ants; resiliency and toughness is the key to getting this done and these ladies were, and are champs! Thank you!!
Coming up:
March: Once the concrete slabs are completed and dried, the Upkeep team will be relocating two of the benches currently on the pool deck, to the concrete slabs and bolted down. These benches were removed from the old walk trail that DR Horton put in the wooded area behind the Clubhouse, which the County made us remove and restore back to a natural preserve. These benches will better serve all CV residents as places along Billfish Ave to sit and rest or just sit and enjoy the fountain views for a few minutes.
April: The Upkeep team will be placing decorative river stones inside the concrete curbing rings around the 5 large palms along the Blackfin pond embankment just inside the Venice Ave entry gate.
Clogged Irrigation Sprayers
Over the past couple of weeks there has been a rapid algae growth inside the main underground irrigation pipes. This algae is clogging up the sprayers. Justin, aka “JMW Irrigation & Landscaping”, is performing “wet-checks” on his days in the community and when he finds clogged sprayers he is pulling them off, flushing the lines, and replacing the clogged sprayers with new ones. The clogged sprayers can and will be refurbished with new filters and cleaned-out spray ports and stored for reuse later. If you see that your sprayers are clogged, please use the PayHOA portal to submit and “Irrigation Issue” and you’ll be added to the work order list. Please do not simply “assume” your sprayers are clogged; you must actually see it clogged before submitting the form.

ARC Form Submittal
There was a bit of confusion over the past week or so. When we returned to using this website we did not get the ARC request page on this site revised first, and a couple of folks submitted ARC requests through this old way. Please know that ARC Requests must be submitted in the PayHOA Portal. You can access that HERE if you need to.
That’s all for this week! Hope to see you all at a CV Community Event in the near future!!
